COMING EVENTS

July 6-18, 2011 - Kyle will be participating in the 2011 soundSCAPE Festival in Maccagno, Italy, which will see the premiere of his new trio Tercets, expanding for flute, clarinet, and saxophone.

October 15, 2011 - Kyle's piece Entropy rising for mixed septet will be premiered at the 2011 Fall Composition Juries in Conrad Prebys Concert Hall on the UCSD Campus in La Jolla. The event starts at 10am and is open to the public.

2011-2012 Season TBD - The new music group TV Buddha, led by music director Ming-Ching Chiu, will premiere Kyle's piece Phoenix-song for mixed septet, which was commissioned by the ensemble.

Spring 2012 will see the premiere of Kyle's new song cycle for voice, percussion, and double bass (currently in progress). This cycle is based on Geoffrey Chaucer's Treatise on the Astrolabe. More details will be made available as the project nears completion.

RECENT NEWS

March 12-13, 2011 - Kyle played clarinet with the La Jolla Symphony on the world premiere of Mark Applebaum's Concerto for Florist and Orchestra under the baton of conductor Steve Schick.

February 2011 - Kyle played clarinet on the premiere of Adam Goodwin's piece Sanhara for clarinet, percussion, and two double basses, with Leah Bowden, percussion, Adam Goodwin and Scott Worthington, basses

December 10, 2010 - Kyle's piece Patchwork triangles was premiered by Rachel Beetz, flute, Leah Bowden, percussion, and Adam Goodwin, bass, at the Conrad Prebys Concert Hall on the UCSD campus in La Jolla, CA.

November 19, 2010 - Kyle's micro-opera The eighth daughter was premiered by the Kallisti Ensemble as part of their Instant Operas project in the UCSD Experimental Theater on the UCSD campus in La Jolla, CA.

November 11, 2010 - The University of Florida Clarinet Ensemble performed Kyle's piece Northwest corner at the First Presbytarian Church in Gainesville, FL. The performance was later rebroadcast on WUFT-Gainesville.

November 2, 2010 - The University of Florida Clarinet Ensemble performed Kyle's piece Northwest corner at the University of Florida Memorial Auditorium in Gainesville, FL.

September 2010 - Kyle began studies toward his PhD at the University of California - San Diego!

August 2010 - Kyle and his wife moved from Champaign, IL, to their new home in San Diego, CA!
